Run a Previa without the SAD shaft?

I am in the midst of swapping a JDM engine into a Previa. I am wondering if I can quickly test the JDM engine without attaching the SAD. I want to know if the engine was installed properly, and is running before installing the SAD shaft. Anyone know if this is ok to do?

If the coolant hoses are hooked up and the battery is fully charged, it should be able to run for a bit.
