One would need more information to help you. Is there oil on the dipstick? Was the 60 mile drive unremarkable? Any warning lights come on?

    Help us help you.

Unhappy Re: loud noise. I believe engine seized.

I drove the 60 miles after the oil change I did personally. I used mobil 5,000 oil. There was a clanking sound immediately after the oil change in the front of the hood beside the alternator and it had went away after I drove it on the local road for about 4 miles. The sound was gone while on the highway. It did feel as though a small piece of metal might be loose and jumping around hitting stuff though. I don't know what else to say. I turned the key and I had to quick small rev to keep engine from shutting down. It felt like the pistons in cylinder heads or cylinder couldn't turn to easily. Then I turned it off. I turned it on again and a very loud metal to metal noise and grinding started so I shut it off immediately. I have read that if I take out the spark plugs and in the hole and i put in some wd 40 pb blaster or autotrans fluid it might help. The dipstick shows that it has oil only on one side of dipstick. The engine I think has oil.

Have you checked the SADS shaft?

The engine is possibly not seized. It turned out to be the ac compressor belt was stopping the engine from turning andit had to be turned on at different times and let run until the compressor was burned out. I don't suggest trying this method because something could have been wrong with the engine and hurt that part of automobile.

Removing the A/C belt may have been the way to go.

your description of clanking under the hood made me think it was something to do with the accessories there, or the shaft that drives them (the bushings in the front revolver torn and noisy).

So it runs normally now without the a/c compressor holding it back?
