Re: Replacement speedometer cable?
Hello,
I've got a 1987 Manual 4WD LE with a cable that snapped about a 1/3 of the way from the speedo to the transmission. I'm in Vermont and salvage yard finds are scarce and there aren't any local speedo shops. Does anyone have a spare they're willing to sell or trade for? If not, any suggestions on where I might be able to get a custom one made? Thanks!
Re: Replacement speedometer cable?
I found a cable from a junk yard, but when I went to install it I realized the place it attaches on my transmission doesn't look typical. It looks like it needs a cable with a male threaded end. The van is an 85 le. Has anyone seen this?

Re: Replacement speedometer cable?
I had the same issue in my 4WD 5 speed cargo van, the threads on the Speedometer Gear Sleeve were broken but luckily the cable was not damaged. I ordered 3 complete sets of Speedometer Gear, Sleeve and clips and bought a used one from a TV member. The S/G is NLA in the U.S.

It looks like the threads on the sleeve is broken which are still available last time I checked.
