blower-motor lead identification

Hi all.

Blower motor not working, trying to track it down. Have checked fuses and breakers and relays. Am now, per another thread on this site, wanting to test for voltage at the motor itself but can't find the wires, of all things. (Yes, I have AC). If i understand the diagram correctly, they should be light blue with an orange stripe and light blue with a red stripe... but where the heck do they connect to the blower motor? I'm probably just blind, but help would be appreciated. Don't want to buy a new motor if I don't have to! Thx!

Take the glove box out so you can see the motor. Once you see it you'll see the wires coming out of it. If there are no wires, then maybe that's your problem :cnfsd:. Tim

Hmm. Well, the glove-box is out, dash is off, my view of the motor is as unobstructed as is possible. Only wires I see are to the resistor pack, which is new. I'm either blind or the damn thing's not plugged in. Where should they be/where do they come from? Thx!

Just went through this myself. On my '88 the plug was directly behind the big reinforcement bar that runs across the dash. It was a little difficult to get at to unplug it. In the picture below you can just barely see the plug peaking out behind the bar on the right side of the motor. No photoshop on the work computer so look under the "V" at right._________V

Okay, I don't have time to research this right now, so I'm going from memory (I might be off an a few deails). Factory motors have a connector (wires detach). That connector is 180 deg from the round vent tube on the back of the motor. Most aftermarket motors (at least the ones I've seen) have the wires coming out of the motor (no connector). Sounds like you have a factory motor with the harness pulled out (disconnected). It's a flat plug (white) with 2 female spade connectors in it. The wire colors you mention sound correct. Tim
