87 Van: Trying to fix passenger side automatic window.

Can someone please point me in the right direction for fixing my broken passenger side automatic window? Links to parts I can order online would be appreciated, as well as any suggestions for testing which component might be causing the issue.

Start by taking the door panel off, and using a test light and/or multimeter, test for power and ground at the window regulator connector.

Good power + good ground= bad regulator.

No power at the connector could be a blown fuse, bad switch or broken wire.

No ground is probably just a bad connection somewhere.

Unless it works properly with the drivers side switch, i’d start on that side to troubleshoot. The power for the passeger side window goes through the cable
to the door to the switch, back through the door cable, to the switch on the passenger side. For it to work it needs 4 cables to be good and a switch. Power and ground (which they probably are, if the driver side window works. Then two cables that run from the switch on the driver side to the switch on the passenger side. And the switch itself needs to work. In operation these cables should
differ by 12V, and it flips direction for up or down. You can check with a multimeter. If it works check on the plug in the footwell, if it does check the voltage on the motor on the passenger
side window, if not, the cable is broken where the door hinges. It really needs to be 12-ish volts 9 or 10 is not okay.
