Does anyone have experience with a brand new 4Y-E full complete engine from china?

The Alibaba listing shows no Toyota markings so its aftermarket parts and castings.

I am looking at long blocks on line and just stumbled on a listing on Alibaba for a fully assembled engine with harness, starter, intake, belts everything ....pre run at factory ... the whole enchilada ready to install. However its for a Hi Ace but listing shows a fitment to a Toyota 4X4 van with 4Y-E

The listing on alibaba they are quoting $700-$1000 not including freight.

I have had 3 vans over the last 25 yrs...two 2WD (*sold them ) and my current 1989 4x4 which I bought in 2001 and I will never part with my 4x4.

I had the engine rebuilt in 2002 by a local shop here in San Diego in 2002...but I dont think they did a great job. At any rate its been in my garage for 8yrs and not driven due to a firing miss that I simply didnt have time to look into.... maybe bad gas maybe injector clogged...but was running fine but burned oil.

and now about to pull it out of mothballs and give it TLC to get it back on the road and I would like to get the engine rebuilt, or buy remanufactured online OR Alibaba.

Have you tried to find an engine from a forklift?

If you reconsider a local rebuilder, San Diego Motor Machine in National City rebuilt my 3y over a 100,000mi ago & its still running strong & smooth with no oil leaks yet.
