Hi guys, just got my first Toyota van! It runs great and started up nice when I first bought it. It started up fine today to run a quick errand but on the way back I went to start and it kinda sputtered and failed to start, it did this a couple more times before it did start and once it was running it seemed to be fine and made it home, I assumed the fuel pump but thought I’d ask your opinions first,

Could be heat soak. Search the forum to see if you have similar symptoms. There is also a good write up about testing fuel pressure ( it is kinda involve). But I would start with heat soak as it is a common enough issue discussed on this site.

I tried my best to read up on the og discussions on here, I learned a lot and did read about the heat soak, my errand run was quick and didn’t seem like that would be a problem.

Sounds like heat soak. If you're able replicate the problem and then try it again but this time open the engine hatch and leave it open while you go inside and run your errand. If it doesn't do it then it is the heat soak problem.
