I couldn't find an exact thread with the same starter symptoms my van has been giving me for the past 2 months up until last night, so I'll do my best to explain it:
Last night I went to move my van a teeny bit backwards in the driveway, the starting armature didn't catch on so the starter just spun without engaging the engine very briefly before it caught and kicked over the engine. Today, the starter is not catching the engine and is just simply spinning without much else. I knew this starter wasn't too good from the get-go as it gradually cranked over slower and slower over the past couple months until today.
I know the reman'd starters are not of notable quality from several members on here, and I'm already sunk into starter No. 2 or 3 on this right now. Gonna have to tow my lil shoebox to a shop nearby and not the mechanic that did it since he's well over 15 minutes away and AAA refuses to tow me, let alone the cost for the towing from some other guys, so what would be the best way to approach/handle this in locating a good starter? Any recommendations/information? I'd preffer not to have to replace a starter every quarter of the year just to keep using my van! :wall:
Thanks in advance,
