Hey guys this is my first post. I've had my 1986 2wd van for about a year and am absolutely in love. You guys have helped me get some things figured out and I thank you all.

To my question, I replaced a couple of my cluster lights that had been taken out (oil and radiator) :pissed: and now they're lighting up. Ive got the radiator light under control since it was a leaking hose that needed replacing. However the oil light is giving me some issues. At first I thought maybe it was a faulty sender but I'm able to control the light with the same function every time so that tells me it isn't a short.

The oil light will come on about 5 minutes after starting up and only will shut off when give it gas and get it up to speed. I have put fresh oil in her so I don't think that its due to low oil, which makes me think its the oil pressure. I have seen an oil leak by the driver side tire but cannot tell where it's coming from.

All in all I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or any stories involving their oil lights and just kinda introduce myself.

Unless you have an LE, the "oil light" is a combination level and pressure alert. The sensors are separate. Check out the search results using the tag oil pressure / oil level combo light (cargo / DLX) (https://www.toyotavantech.com/forum/search.php?searchid=3794130), and if you still have questions or issues, post in the most applicable thread so we can keep the forum organized by topic.

And, welcome! :wave1:

Thanks for the tip, I'll check that out! There is so much on here it can be a little intimidating at times.
