11258I need urgent help!

Hey all,
yesterday I parked my Toyota cargo van 1986 and suddenly all the coolant rushed out to the ground. The engin was hot so there were some bubbles coming out from the cap and a little smoke. I got towed home and i’m hoping to fix it quickly. I’m not sure if it’s a leak or if a hose popped off. When i took off the reservoir cap today, this hose came off with it and i’m not sure if it’s supposed to be connected to something. I’m new to this so does anyone have any ideas to help me out here?

I’ll attach a picture of the hose with the thread so maybe someone has an idea for me. I’ve been googling all day but it seems like no one has come across this whole hose ordeal :( All help is appreciated! :)

Thanks!
Zo

Zo - that end just vents to the ground.
Like if the engine overheats and pushes coolant into the overflow and it overflows, it pushes out that hose onto the ground.

You have cooling system issues that you need to assess and address.
There are many threads on the subject, spend some time reading thru them, then diagnose whats going on with your ride.
You have to assume that nothing has ever been done and go from there

Thanks for shining light on my huge lack of knowledge here! I'm going to take a look at all the threads and check it out. Now that you say that the hose is the overflow hose then I'm thinking that my engine must have overheated after the steep hill I did, so there must be some kind of source to the overheat. Seeing as there was bubbling and it all rushed out rather quickly.
I'll look into that, it's gonna be a good way to learn for sure.
