Forgive me if there’s info somewhere on this topic but I wasn’t able to find anything. I have an ‘89 and I would like some advice on how to disable the irritating open door chime that remains buzzing while the drivers side door is ajar. I’m having someone do some work on it this week and want to make sure I get it disabled to save them the headache of listening to it while they work / wasting time trying to find out how to disable it themselves

welcome to the forum, I'm not sure how to deactivate the buzzer on the Van Wagon but here's a thread in the Previa that a member has kindly created that may even apply to the Vans:cnfsd:

Good luck and let us know if that works and post any new information you come up with to help the rest of us out too:yes:

There is a black box under the left side of the dash behind the speaker, unplug it. No more chime:thmbup:

I would also imagine that you could remove the door sensor, which is what detects that the door is open in the first place. I would expect that removing that would prevent the alarm from sounding.

Disabling the "door open" sensor will also disable the dome light, and the courtesy lights on the LE model.
