Hi there, I'm looking to replace the rubber weatherstriping (correct term??) on my '87 vanwagon, and I'm having some issues, I've read thru some of the other forum posts and I found some useful info, but as far as I can tell it doesn't answer my specific question.

So, the windows slide open and shut totally fine, the issue is with the rubber that the windows sit in, between the window frame and the body of the van.
See picture below:

I found a diagram of the window components here:

https://www.oemgenuineparts.com/v-1987-toyota-van--wagon-crg--2-2l-l4-gas/body--glass-side-door

But I am can't tell for sure what part is needing to be replaced... any pro tips?

Thanks!!

I usually go to https://www.toyodiy.com/ to look for part numbers.

I'm not sure exactly what model your van is, but I see some entries for weatherstripping on the townace here: https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1987_TOYOTA_TOWNACE_CR30G-MEZX_6152.html for instance.

Thanks for the links, I think what I'm looking for is if someone call tell me from the image in my original post if the part is either the Outer Sash Retainer or is it the Outer Sash itself? The diagrams I've come across haven't been super helpful.

Check out the window rehab blog (https://www.toyotavantech.com/forum/entry.php?265-Sliding-windows-rehab) posted by carbonized. Maybe you could reach out to him for an update.
