I have an 2003 Estima Aeras 3.0 automatic that when it reaches normal running temperature the overdrive doesn’t engage. It is ok when running from cold to running temperature, but when it drops to 2nd or1st there is no reaction from the overdrive after that. The dashboard o/d light works as normal with the o/d switch.
This has only started to happen after the engine developed a coolant leak which I didn’t know about until the fan stated to kick on and off and I topped up with more coolant.
Has the coolant sensor been cooked or is it something else more ominous?. I have not yet checked any fault codes.
