All,

I'm completely restoring my 86 Van Wagon, just had a bunch of body work done (Picture below). Now I'm working on putting AC in - currently its only got fans and air flow, no heat/AC. I'm in the process of gathering all the necessary parts. I cannot for the life of me find instructions in any of my service manuals on how to install an AC Compressor on a vehicle where there isn't already one. I have two questions:

1) How/where do I mount the AC Compressor to the engine?
2) How to I get the drive belt over to the AC Compressor? Once mounted, the belts don't go that way...

Anyone with experience and photos who would be willing to share, that would be amazing.

Thank you!

Came here to say that is beautiful. Have you checked the Toyota and the Chilton manual?

SC - Is this a van that had the AC disabled or is it a van that never had AC from the factory.

If the later scenario, installing air will be quite the job and a doner van would be your best bet.
As there will be hundreds of little things you will need.

AC compressor brackets, idler pulleys, ducting, computers, wiring harnesses.....
