Hello! A few days ago my van showed up from its 12 hour trailer ride and is finally home. I drove it off the trailer and did a quick loop around the block, seemed good to me. Parked it in the garage, and now when I go to start it, it cranks but doesnt start. From what I can hear, when I key on, I dont hear the fuel pump, but I'm not sure if it's just quiet in these. Didnt seem to be getting spark either, kind of lost now, as I don't know why I'd run into both those issues at the same time. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Pull a plug, especially since the motor in in the front seat and turn the motor over and look for spark.

about getting fuel, ... these gauges stink, you could be out of gas... :cnfsd:

Sufficient voltage to starter?
I remember once having a problem similar to what you're describing.,
...went to the starter shop,, but instead of selling me a fresh starter, they installed a capacitor just before the starter, to boost the voltage.

It must be a common fix. I found one already installed in a subsequent van.

Made sure i added some fuel, that still didn't solve my issue. Found the 30a fuseable link for the ignition (the one behind the passenger seat under the floor) to be popped. Replaced that, started up!

It's funny, got it running yesterday, worked well for me for a while. Now it wont even crank, i just get a sort of clunk sound from the starter whenever I try to crank it. Possibly not enough voltage? Maybe a bad starter? Will certainly have to go get some voltage measurements though.

Have you perused this thread?

In Post #45 TimsRV talks about adding a booster relay to address low voltage/voltage loss from ignition to starter.

FYI, this was my situation after I bought my van:

I had the starting problem for a year and a half before I finally had a bypass starter switch installed.
2 new starters, new ignition switch, new neutral safety switch, several electrical trouble shooting campaigns, new battery cables, rebuilt starter with new copper contacts & new plunger, fusible link checked and tested ok, new big-ass battery, etc. But in the end the starter bypass switch was the only solution.

Hope this helps, good luck!

I read through this and it's entirely possible, but i ran a power probe from battery to the starter directly and still had the same issue

There is no fuel pump prime by turning the ignition to on. The Fuel pump begins to run in the crank position as an rpm signal is needed and then air drawn into the AFM as the AFM has a fuel pump switch that is activated after the flap in the AFM begins to open.
