So...Regarding an '86 Deluxe 2 wd(July of 86)....Upper Control Arm(Right).....Is it correct that the Deluxe/Standard models are different than the LE version?? A couple of Toyota dealerships have said so. They say the part I need is the 48610-28013(or 011 or 012). However, the Toyota Collision Catalog shows the 28013 as the part for the 1984-1985 and the 1986-89 LE.. It shows the part for the 1986-'89 Standard/Deluxe as 28021...The dealerships said otherwise....
Which threw me for a bit of a loop...
There's an '85 at a picknpull near me...but don't want to slither around in the mud for the wrong part.
So wondering how to be sure to stay compatible....
Am I safe if I get the part from any 2wd passenger wagon 1986-1989 Standard/Deluxe???
Or might I get screwed due to the manufacture month??
Is the 1985 definitely a no-go? ***As well as the '86-'89 LE version?
Other options?
Many thanks to the crew.

For 2WD Vans,
It's the same exact part all the way up through 85-89
Theres literally NO difference between the deluxe vs. the LE.
Check out rock auto for the Moog control arms, really good alternative to the oem control arm, and cheaper at that.
And YES, the 85 one from the yard will work just fine also.

Thanks Flecker!!
Will the lower arm from an '85 work on the '86??
I'm headed to the yard. I'll grab it just in case.

That I don't know...
If this helps though, Rock auto shows same part #'s for upper's but different for lower's. Can't imagine why though. May be different bushing size difference on the lowers for 85 vs. 86

Maaaaan I waved at you when you turned off of 196th street but you were looking straight ahead, I was running errands and was gonna stop in there at that time but I didn’t have my tools with me... too funny!! I’ll probably hit up tomorrow, do you know if the rear hatch was open or locked?
I looked on toyotapartsdeal and put in the part number for the upper arm and it lists the dates for the vehicle, chassis and manufacturing date.

We were traveling in opposite directions when I saw you:wave1:
Were you able to pull the upper arm? If you got it and pull the one off of your van maybe post a picture of the 2 side by side for comparison.
That at van was picked thru pretty good before I got there.

Sorry guys, in the process of moving a coupe of posts I accidentally moved the entire thread, I think I’ve got it figured out to move it back to the proper Technical section of the forum.
