I noticed the cover to my fuse box is gone. My owner's manual went ages ago. I do have my 86 manual for my cargo van. Are the fuses in the same spots or can some kind soul share the fuse panel layout diagram from an 89 owner's manual? Please??:)>:
Pretty please.

Is it the same for the '87 4WD (manual) cargo van?

Also, if a 10A fuse is called for and I don't have one on hand, can I use 15A?

No you cannot. If you do you risk not only damaging whatever the fuse is supposed to protect but also a fire. Being that these are older vehicles the wiring is getting old and corroded already and resistance is increasing in some wires. Using a higher rated fuse than called for will stress the wires even more and could cause the insulation to melt and then short and cause a fire

Is the image in Post #2 good for the '87 model as well?

Pretty much. I'm not sure about 84 & 85, but all vans after used the same fuse panel.

It has to be different for the '87 4WD van because in the #14 position I have a 7.5A fuse and the turn signals stopped working when I pulled out the fuse in the #1 position. I was trying to stop the radio/CD because it wouldn't shut off when the car was shut off, so I just started pulling fuses until it stopped. I thought I must have pulled the correct fuse on the first try, because the CD stopped spinning when I did. But then next time I drove the van, the turn signals were not working. Problem is, I can't find the fuse I pulled and can't remember its amperage. And I have to fix it immediately or not pass inspection and it's the last day to do it!

Okay, I just snapped the following picture from my 87 Van Owner's Manual. Although they may have changed some fuse values, it looks to me like the locations are the same. FYI, I have interchanged fuse blocks from all years on 2nd gen vans (86 - 89) and have never had any conflicts. Tim

Well those turns signals aren't working and I don't know why. I have a good fuse in there now.

But no matter, because the garage found other issues that will keep the van from passing inspection, and I can't afford to correct the problems. So the van will have to be sold to someone who can either do the repairs or use the van for parts.
