Maybe I’m blind but I don’t see how to start a new thread?

+ new posts is not available to me although it says I have permission.

now it says I may not post new threads. Earlier everything was on

I moved your post to its own thread. Screenshots and instructions to follow ...

You need to be at the subforum level (where you can see all the threads currently in that forum). Then you will see the "+ Post New Thread" button at the top. Here's a screenshot of this subforum ("Site Suggestions, Issues, and Problems"):

9333

From this thread, scroll up and click on "Site Suggestions, Issues, and Problems". You should then see the "+ Post New Thread" button yourself.

NEXT be sure you select the appropriate subforum before posting your new thread!

If you haven't seen it already, you'll want to get familiar with THIS STICKIED THREAD (https://www.toyotavantech.com/forum/showthread.php?5323-Searching-TVT-successfully-and-posting-new-threads) about successful searching. If you are already familiar with that thread, thanks, and carry on. :wnk:

Hi Gwen,

Do you know how I can edit the title of my thread?

I made an error in my title and need to change it. Title is called "Front Axle Seal Replacement 2WD", when it should be called "Rack and Pinion Seal Replacement 2WD". Any tips on how change this would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

There's an edit window for all posts. Thread titles, however, can only be edited by a Mod or Admin once the post is made. It's just how the software works.

Regarding the title of the thread you mention — If that thread is going to show people the HOW of "Rack and Pinion Seal Replacement 2WD", then that's definitely an appropriate title. But when asking how to diagnose symptoms, a summary of the symptom(s) would be the appropriate thread title. Folks like to know whether they're going to find a how-to or information on finding or eliminating causes of problems they're having when they look at threat titles. So at this point in that particular thread's life, changing the title to "Rack and Pinion Seal Replacement 2WD" is a move primed to disappoint TVT users.

Once the thread has evolved or is no longer receiving updates, I'll make the necessary changes to the title. I've already made a note to do that.
