Hi all.
Have have 2RZ 2.4l petrol motor in 93 hiace in Oz.
Q) is it required to retorque head bolts after period of use?
Was a new crate motor.
If so what would be the torque specs on head bolts?
Also what are specs on socket type that fits the head bolts?
Any info appreciated thanks.

A crate engine? As in, from Toyota? I wouldn't bother re-torquing the head bolts in all honesty.
I know they say 500 miles, blah blah blah… but if they were torqued down right to begin with it shouldn't be an issue. Especially in a crate motor.
Anyhow, heres the torque specs for the 2rz: (As for the socket size, prolly 17mm... but if your pulling the valve cover you will know the size anyways. 6 point is best for torque)

Thanks for information. Is Asian crate motor got down in Oz. Not a Toyota issue. All brand new parts. Will pull cover and check when head bolts type anyway.
