Gas Fuel tank compatibility interchange ability crossover

Do we know what tanks will work in what vans? specifically will an 86 2wd auto fit in an 85 2wd manual...

here we have tanks from an 87 4x4 5 speed and 89 2wd auto..man theyre close and i could maybe see one swapping/adapting if they needed to..the 4x4 tank is taller and shorter in length...2wd has the foil tape on the openings in these pics...i dont have the bodies side by side to try things out but thought i would post this info for now...
