Trying to get our camper ready for a big trip next week! Just discovered transmission fluid leak from the shift e-lock solenoid. Also just discovered that the part has been discontinued! Haven’t been able to find it on eBay or otherwise. Will try the scrap yards come Monday. Wondering if anyone has any tips of places (online or otherwise) to find this part? Or any ideas in general?!

Post a parts request in the wanted section.
JDM VANMAN has been on a parts crusade lately and might be able to help you.
And... He's in Seattle!:dance2:

Good luck!

FYI Volvo AW70/71 transmissions use this same solenoid. It's Volvo part #1239928 or #1239679. I got a cheap aftermarket replacement off of eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/VOLVO-AUTO-TRANSMISSION-OVERDRIVE-SOLENOID-WITH-O-RINGS-240-262-264-265-740-760/251548814596?epid=1033679819&hash=item3a917a4d04:g:hhIAAOSwR5dXSyEp and it's working good, but sadly it's now leaking a little by the wires after only about 15k miles. After that experience I think I'd rather install a salvage yard solenoid next time around. If you don't mind spending $150 or so then get a new OEM Volvo one. There's also a more expensive aftermarket one (KAEHLER) on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-Overdrive-Solenoid-Brand-New-KAEHLER/142344290274?hash=item2124617fe2:g:ArQAAOSwTM5Y68g O . Not sure how good it would be but almost certainly better than the el cheapo one I got. If you don't ever need to turn it off, then just get the bypass thing shown below in the links. Tim

For those of you who have given up on troubleshooting, here's an easy way to get your OD back. If you think you'll ever want to turn your OD off, then this isn't for you (this will permanently enable it). This completely eliminates the need for the OD electrical circuit.

You just climb under the DS of the van, remove the heat shield (2 8mm hex bolts), then remove the (2) 12mm solenoid mount bolts, cut the wire, and remove the solenoid. Install this part and you're done (should take about 5 minutes). Tim
