It looks like a mangled fragment of a bearing cage to me, not completely sure though. There was another similar piece as well, but its not in the picture. How bad is this for me? Put royal purple maxgear in the manual transmission and transfer case. It actually shifts smoother now. Who knows how long the PO went without changing the fluids.

Don't froget to do your differentials. Changed the oil in my rear diff but I still need to do the front. The parts store person was like .."thats a lot of expensive gear oil, what are you doing?" And its true..about $100 dollars to do the transmission, TC, and diffs. I wonder how much it would cost at an oil change shop or something? Dirty job

Just wondering, what size is the transmission plug and the differential plug?

Hi
Does anyone know a place I could buy replacement fill plug and drain plug for a 86 5 speed manual?
Mine were very tight and got rounded..still workable but don't want em to get fully stuck one day
Thanks!

Have you considered trying the dealer?
They were a stocked item, last time I replaced mine
