Intercooler?

Anyone thought about an intercooler on their diesel?

I feel like it would be possible to fit a small water to air cooler on top of the engine and put the radiator part down below the van. Some of the in line barrel style intercoolers are pretty small. The van is pretty cramped for space though.

Thoughts? Waste of money and effort?

Yes, right after I add a turbo.
My hiace has space behind the bumper. Unless I add a tow hitch there.
