:cnfsd:I have the instructions, but I can't move the adjustable lug/switch to the neutral mark on the switch unit itself! I don't like to force it. The switch unit isn't totally removed from the trans, the bolt that secures it and the retaining nut and two washers are removed. I've used a butt load of nut loosner, but the switch won't come completely off. Thanks!

Not sure if you figured this out yet but the lug/pin that sticks out past the nut is NOT adjustable. You adjust the whole unit by loosening the bolt (as shown in the diagram) and sliding it until it is lined up. I forget if this needs to be done in the Park or Neutral position.

Here's what my service manual says about adjusting the neutral safety switch. What does the reference to 'neutral basic line' below mean? I'm replacing my switch this weekend.

ADJUSTMENT OF NEUTRAL START SWITCH
If the engine will start with the shift selector in any range
other than "N" or "P", adjustment is required.

1. LOOSEN NEUTRAL START SWITCH BOLT AND SET
SHIFT SELECTOR IN "N" RANGE

2. ADJUST NEUTRAL START SWITCH
(a) Align the groove and neutral basic line.
(b) Hold in position and tighten the bolt.

3. TORQUE NEUTRAL START SWITCH BOLT
Torque: 55 kg-cm (48 in.-Ib, 5.4 N·m)
