View Full Version : Having some problems - kinda new to TV's

Hey everyone, just seeing if anyone has experienced the same issues.

The other day my trusty van started giving me problems. It starts up just fine.. however after I warm it up and put it into gear and accelerate... it starts sputtering (hiccupping almost). even when i take up to higher speeds it starts to delay as if there are lapses in the fuel getting to the motor, it does not have a smooth idle, whether in neutral or while driving. I changed the fuel filter thinking it was clogged/old. and have a fuel pump ready to install. just not sure what else the issue could be

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Hey Ives,
Did you find out what the problem was?
My van sputters under load when it's warm-although my idle is smooth. I'm thinking fuel pump but I'm going to check the coolant temp sensor tomorrow and do another check on the FPR.

Hello yes i did find out what the problem was. I changed the hose to the intake manifold as well as the thermal control switch. i also replaced all the spark plugs and replaced the wires to the distributor in addition to a tune up. I have put on 1000 miles since and no issues.
