There is quite a bit of suction when removing the gas cap to fill up the tank. Is this normal? I removed the gas cap while driving to see if it affected the performance but there was no noticeable difference. any thoughts?

Totally normal & a could sign that your fuel system is healthy.

I believe it's pressure (not suction) that's normal. If it runs good, then probably nothing to worry about. Tim
Hint: When replacing the fuel filter or working on any part of the fuel system, always loosen/remove the fuel cap 1st. The positive pressure that's normally in the fuel tank will create a gas leak while the system is open. Loosening/removing the cap will prevent this (assuming the system is opened at a higher point than the fuel level in the tank).

Thanks guys! That makes me feel better about this. I was looking up all kinds of stuff online and thought maybe I was going to have to take the fuel system apart. Glad to know it's nothing to worry about. Good tip about opening the gas cap too
