86 toyota le 2wd ice maker will not shut off with a/c on

I recently repaired my a/c on my 86 LE , running r-12 "i have a drum of it" The ice maker / fridge comes on after driving a while with a/c on, i wonder if its a solenoid valve? when i first start up with a/c on and fridge off its fine but i go down the road and notice a reduction in a/c performance and ice maker / fridge is freezing cold? stays that way till i shut the engine or a/c off ?

A related question, but the opposite! I turn the AC off on the dash, and I turn the fridge to off, but the fridge stays freezing cold. Anyone have an ideas what is likely "sticking" in the on positon? A relay? Anyone heard of this before?
