hey guys hows it going? good to see a forum for vans!!!

I have a 94 toyota spacia thats on dual fuel i got so i could cart the troops around in it. i've had one before and loved it but the current one i have is using WAAY too much fual 13.5L to the 100ks when it should be around 8-9l to 100ks ish i've changed the oxygen sensor cause it was stuffed along with water temp sensor (which fell apart in my hands as soo as i touched it..) it was idleing pretty high 1500rpm but 've fixed that and then reset the ecu.. but it's still using lots of fuel and pings alot going up hills any suggestions? it's a 4YE and the check connecters arent the little round ones ive found in other threads on here it is a bot with lots of pins in it.. any help would be awesome..

btw have checke the timing and its 20 havent been able to jump the pins to see if its at 12 tho as i dont know which ones

Hi Buzz,

Most of us here are US van owners so your van is somewhat of an oddity to us. These vans were only offered to the US market from 84-89 (gasoline powered only). Other than a few "late year" 89 vans, we got nothing in 1990. Starting in 1991 we got the Previa (also a gasoline only vehicle) but that was discontinued in 1997. Now we only have the Sienna, but that's not much more than a car with a lame wannabee van body .

I'm not sure what dual fuel means, but I suspect that means it's capable of running on a high percent alcohol mix? Modern vehicles over here use the terminology "flex fuel" & I'm assuming that's what you're talking about. If that's the case, then we would be dealing with something beyond the scope of this forum. I would highly recommend finding a Toyota Factory Service Manual for the specific year & model of your vehicle & follow the troubleshooting charts within.

Unless I had the service manual, anything more I tell you would be purely speculation. Good luck. Tim

dual fuel is Petrol ULP and LPG can run off both but mainly use petrol and thinking or removing the gas system as it's an add on to the va and i don't really use it.. it still uses the stock sensors and everything so i'm not sure what i'll be could the TPS make it run rich?

Interesting. Factory LPG option or aftermarket conversion?

ok from doing so reading i've noticed a few people have had similar symptoms of the idle problems and same fuel consumption ive converted it for you guys mine is using 17.41 MPG and noticed that changing the TPS has helped the problem. nut when i do a ecu check the ecm light just flashes on off on off constantly i counted up to 27 before i stopped

this is the check connector i have
